Unless you've been living under a rock for the past year, you'll have seen that anyone who is anyone has been photographed clutching a carton of coconut water. Raved about for its magical anti-ageing properties, benefits for the digestive system and labelled 'Nature's Gatorade,' I was keen to see what the hype was about.
The lovely people at Cocofina sent me a selection of products to try.
I've only ever ventured as far as Coconut Water before so being confronted with a jar of Coconut Flower Nectar, a sugar alternative, left me a little bewildered. I don't usually have sugar in cups of tea, so made my sugar-fiend Fiancé a coconut brew, and he didn't notice the difference. There was a slight coconut aftertaste, but perhaps you should use less than you normally would sugar.
I tried the coconut and date snack bars before yoga. I've found that if I eat my usual bucket of Coco Pops before doing my practice, wobbling around upside down becomes a little dangerous..
The Pre-Workout snack bar and Mango and Guava Coconut water kept me full and gave me energy until the afternoon, so I wasn't my usual no-breakfast 'hangry' self. The Mango and Guava drink was my favourite choice as the flavours were perfect together.
Whilst I'm still waiting for wonderful, glowing skin, the drinks are definitely good for fitness, with less calories than your typical energy drink.
